Best GPS navigation devices - most effective bang for your buck

Most of these are within the $100-$300 range, which is pretty standard for GPS (global positioning system) navigation systems. For the comfort and convenience of not having to flip through an irritating map, I'd say it's a decent expenditure. I mean, come on. Without my nifty little GPS device, I would never have driven around in California in that convertible Toyota Solara I rented, and Mark and Emily wouldn't have had the Beach Boys playing when I drove them home after their wedding.
